Museum of Jelgava
Exhibition “Straume”
From May 13 to May 22, the Ģederts Eliass Jelgava History and Art Museum will host a traveling pop-up exhibition, offering visitors a chance to view three of the world’s most prestigious film industry awards received by the animated film “Flow”.
Celebrating the phenomenal global success of director Gints Zilbalodis’ full-length animated film “Flow” (2024), the exhibition on the second floor of the museum will feature three major awards:
-
The European Film Academy Award (Best European Animated Feature Film),
-
The Golden Globe Award (Best Animated Feature Film), and
-
The Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Animated Feature Film.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge, and it is open during the museum’s regular hours. Additionally, the exhibition will be accessible during the Museum Night event on May 17, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
It’s worth noting that the Oscar win marked the high point of Flow’s extraordinary journey through the global film awards season. Beginning with its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was selected for the Un Certain Regard section, the film has already won over 70 awards across nearly every continent.
The pop-up exhibition in Jelgava is organized in collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Flow film team.
