After being shown at the Cēsis Concert Hall, textile artist Laurine Malengreau’s exhibition “Soul in Motion” is travelling to the Ģ. Elias Jelgava History and Art Museum, where it will be on display from February 14 to April 1. A meeting with the artist will take place on March 13 at 3:00 PM at the Ģ. Elias Jelgava History and Art Museum.
Laurine Malengreau’s creates textile art as a vital contemporary language. She works with the primacy of gesture. She listens to what each fiber wants to become. Layering materials one upon another gives them a distinctive presence, which in turn provides her with a sense of primary joy.
She firmly believes that art expands goodness and the good within things. Inspired by a search for uniqueness, her works reflect moments of deep introspection. In seeking this vital impulse, she creates vivid works with mythological and chimeric roots.
