Exhibition “From Ventspils to Valka. Latvijas Banka in regions. 1922 – 1940”

This traveling exhibition is a message about the work of the national bank in 24 regions of Latvia.

The story of Latvijas Banka began in 1922 and it covered the whole territory of the recently established state.

Hundred years later, an exhibition was created to commemorate the places, buildings, events, and people who played an important role in the operations of Latvijas Banka from 1922 to 1940.

The bank’s history will be revealed through photographs documenting historic buildings and addresses. Next to these photos will be photos of the places now as a testimony to the changes that had taken place. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the lives and carriers of a few branch heads. The exhibition will also show documents and explanations for the services provided by the bank.

Latvijas Banka Jelgava’s branch was one of seven significant branches offering all the services.
